Be Who God Created You to Be: The Importance of Embracing Your True Identity in High School

As high schoolers, it can be easy to get caught up in the pressures of society and conformity. We are told that we should act in certain ways or follow certain trends in order to fit in and be accepted. But, it is important for high schoolers to remember that God has created each of us with unique gifts, talents, and personalities. It is our duty to use those gifts and be who God created us to be.

Being who God created us to be is not only important for our spiritual growth, but also for our personal growth. When we embrace our individuality, we become more confident in ourselves and our abilities. We are more likely to take risks and try new things, which can lead to success. In addition, when we are authentic, we can find true friends who accept and appreciate us for who we truly are.

Living each day knowing who God created us to be, sets a good example for others. By living a life of integrity and authenticity, we are showing others that it is possible to be true to yourself and follow God’s will. It is a way that we can lead by example and inspire others to do the same.

St. Catherine of Sienna would agree that being who God created us to be, we will set the world on fire no matter how old or young we are.   High schoolers are no exception.  Knowing and claiming who God created us to be is essential for all of us. It allows us to grow spiritually, build confidence, and find true friends. It also sets a good example for others and shows them that it is possible to live a life of integrity and authenticity.

Just imagine how our world would change at this very moment if we let our guards down, lived the person God called us to be, and set this world on fire!
